TURN YOUR STASH INTO CASH!
For the Australian Flood Relief Effort

Over the past two months, parts of Australia have been devastated by a string of natural disasters including flooding, and most recently, Tropical Cyclone Yasi, which was roughly of the same magnitude as Hurricane Katrina in 2005. More than 22 people have been confirmed dead from the flooding in the northern states, with a further 60 people still missing. Businesses and homes have been destroyed in both Northern and Southern states due to some of the worst floods regions have ever seen. It was estimated that a total land area the size of New South Wales (roughly equivalent to Texas) was under water in our most northern state, with additional floods in the south.
Like many other people, we are heartbroken at the loss, and in this time of financial hardship, we wish that there was more we could do to financially assist. So we at The Patchwork Studio have put our heads together and come up with an idea that anyone, anywhere in the world, can assist!
We know that most of you will have a fabric stash of some description! So, let’s turn some of that stash into cash! We are asking for donations of 6” squares to be mailed to us directly. We will then assemble the donations into charm packs to be sold online. The entire profits raised will be divided and donated between both the Queensland and Victorian Flood Relief appeals.
We ask that the fabric you send would be cut to size, and only good quality fabrics of 100% cotton be used. We will then sell the packs both online and at various events and workshops we run over the next few months, until supply runs out. We will keep a tally on our home page so you can see how much money has been raised!
